Alzheimer’s and Dementia: A Multidisciplinary Approach
An evening for community members, families and professionals

5:45 pm- panel of healthcare professionals and innovators focused on new technologies and approaches to Aging. The panel includes experts in Medicare Home Health, Memory Care, Long Term Care , Life & Medical Insurance,  Elder Law, Communication, Private Duty Home Care and Community Services who  will share information, tips and strategies in developing a multidisciplinary approach in supporting families dealing with Aging, Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
 
7 pm - a presentation for professionals and families that care for people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
 
Supporting Well-being for Persons Living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s
Presenter: Anna Ortigara RN, MS, FAAN, Organization Change Consultant, PHI
Objectives:
· Recognize the hallmarks of culturally sensitive dementia or Alzheimer’s care relative to African-Americans.
· Understand variances that impact a dementia or Alzheimer’s diagnosis and dementia, Alzheimer’s care in that community.
· Identify factors that affect support service utilization by African-American caregivers/families.
· Describe culturally appropriate caregiver interventions.
 
This program is open to community members and professionals, it is worth 1 CEU credit to nurses, social workers, professional counselors and administrators.
