DESCRIPTION:Road to Independence Event is back raising Funds and Awareness for Domestic Violence Survivors\n\nBEDS Plus is happy to announce a return partnership with Mike McNamara of Proper Rate and Milk Money Brewing for the 4th Annual Road To Independence Event on April 25th\, 6:30pm at Milk Money Brewing. Raising awareness and funds for BEDS Plus to assist survivors of domestic violence with housing and supportive services.\n\n \n\nThis event presented by Mike McNamara of ProperRate and co-hosted by Milk Money Brewing\, will have live entertainment provided by Blue Lexi unplugged an Whiskey Jezelbel Acoustic benefitting the Domestic Violence clients of BEDS Plus Care. Returning this year are the  Ladies of Harley\, the Illinois Route 66 Hog Chapter  and Illinois Harley Davidson of Countryside will be supporting the  popular Harley Davidson Photo booth.\n\nBEDS Plus helps individuals stabilize their lives through housing and supportive services.\n\nThis topic is personal for Mike McNamara\, a La Grange resident and business owner\, who is spearheading this event. Mike is passionate about this cause because it has affected someone in his family.\n\n"My sister was married to an abuser for 19 years and a local safe house program saved her life three different times as she fled on foot with two babies on her hips.  I'm on a personal mission to raise awareness of domestic violence\, the realities of this abuse in our very own neighborhoods\, eliminate the stigma and shame associated with this and raise money to help women gain their independence back from their abusers." A used car donated to Mike's sister gave her the means to obtain a job and stability for her family. \n\nfundraiser/ $25 entry fee ( $30 at the door).  Ten percent of sales from Milk Money's Exclusive Event Beer   Road To Independence Ale will be revealed and 10 percent of totals sales from The April 25th event along with sponsors will assist these vulnerable members in our community.
