DESCRIPTION:November is the month where we highlight very important subjects: Dementia\, Alzheimer's disease and family caregiving.\n\nAlzheimer's and Dementia: A Multidisciplinary Approach\n\nAn evening for community members\, families and professionals\n\n4:00 pm  FREE memory screenings \n\n \n\n5:45 pm- panel of healthcare professionals and innovators focused on new technologies and approaches to Aging. The panel includes experts in Medicare Home Health\, Memory Care\, Long Term Care \, Life & Medical Insurance\,  Elder Law\, Communication\, Private Duty Home Care and Community Services who  will share information\, tips and strategies in developing a multidisciplinary approach in supporting families dealing with Aging\, Dementia and Alzheimer's. \n\n \n\n7 pm - a presentation for professionals and families that care for people with Dementia and Alzheimer's.\n\n \n\nSupporting Well-being for Persons Living with Dementia or Alzheimer's\n\nPresenter: Anna Ortigara RN\, MS\, FAAN\, Organization Change Consultant\, PHI\n\nObjectives:\n\n  Recognize the hallmarks of culturally sensitive dementia or Alzheimer's care relative to African-Americans.\n\n  Understand variances that impact a dementia or Alzheimer's diagnosis and dementia\, Alzheimer's care in that community.\n\n  Identify factors that affect support service utilization by African-American caregivers/families.\n\n  Describe culturally appropriate caregiver interventions.\n\n \n\nThis program is open to community members and professionals\, it is worth 1 CEU credit to nurses\, social workers\, professional counselors and administrators.  \n\n \n\nFood and beverages will be provided.
